My second day of Orientation came like a wave of stale air in the middle of springtime. Everything about the first day was awesome: getting butterflies in my stomach, meeting my new dorm-mate Patrick, setting up the new living quarters, being welcomed by hundreds of screaming Seniors, listening to all the awaiting opportunities, and talking through the night.

This morning was hardly what I would have expected after yesterday. I woke up and I could tell I wasn’t in my real bed – and it was way too early. Patrick was quieter this morning as we went to breakfast. Neither of us was really all that awake. After breakfast we headed to the Field House. All the glory and splendor of the place seemed dimmed when the speakers started reading off cue cards that were more like cue sheets o’ paper. Not even the movie they wanted to show us loaded this morning.
